What it is for

Before studying it helps to know what is there. This map summarises the dihedral block of Technical Drawing II (RD 243/2022) and which Academy topic covers each part.

Foundations

  • 1. The point
  • 2. The line (traces, types)
  • 3. The plane (traces, classification)

Operations

  • 4. Intersections
  • 5. Parallelism and perpendicularity
  • 6. Distances
  • 7. Angles
  • 15. Steepest slope and inclination
  • 16. Angles with the projection planes

Methods

  • 8. Rotations into the projection plane
  • 9. Spins
  • 10. Changes of plane

Solids

  • 11. Polyhedra (sections, intersection with a line)
  • 12. Surfaces (cylinder, cone, sphere)
  • 13. Sections and their true size
  • 14. Nets
  • 17. Characteristic positions
  • 18. Oblique cylinders and cones
  • 19. The sphere

Recommended order: 1-3 (foundations) → 4-7 (operations) → 8-10 (methods) → 11-19 (solids). Operations are used inside the methods, and the methods inside the solids: if something fails, it is almost always a foundation.

Outside this Academy

These 19 topics cover the dihedral block of the exam: point and line, plane, intersections, parallelism and perpendicularity, distances, angles, rotations, spins, changes of plane, polyhedra, surfaces, sections and nets. The subject also includes the axonometric system, contour maps, conical perspective and standardisation (cuts, sections, dimensioning): they are not in the app yet.
